When you finish a creative task, such as journaling, doodling in a notebook, or dancing, your brain is filled with dopamine - a natural antidepressant that motivates you and makes you feel good.
Creativity gives you a sense of personal satisfaction and achievement. A study published in Arts & Health, shows this can be achieved with just 45 minutes of free art making was enough to improve a person’s confidence.
Studies show that people who play instruments have better connectivity between their left and right brains. The left brain is responsible for motor functions, while the right brain focuses on melody. When the two hemispheres of your brain communicate with each other, your cognitive function improves.

Social connection plays a major role in maintaining wellbeing at every age. Consider the ways in which creativity played a role in maintaining social connectivity during the pandemic.
Creative activities have shown to reduce anxiety, depression, and stress. These activities focus the mind and have a calming effect. They also allow us to process trauma.
